Commitment to our students, empowered by experience and community connection

As a Sunolian for over 20 years, I respectfully ask for your support to serve our community as a member of the Sunol Glen School Board.

I am a product of California's public education system. I attended public schools through high school before returning to college as an adult. I earned a Bachelor's in Applied Mathematics from California State University, Bakersfield, and a Master's in Statistics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

I devoted my career to public education, retiring in December 2025 after 25 years with the California Community Colleges. I began as a Professor of Mathematics and Statistics and most recently served as Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at Contra Costa College. In that role, I led faculty and staff, managed budgets, and oversaw hiring and evaluation processes. I also helped guide the successful completion of a $72 million Science Center bond project.

I am a mother, grandmother and aunt who has supported children through Sunol Glen, and I'm committed to ensuring every Sunol Glen student receives a high-quality education in a safe, supportive, and fiscally responsible environment. I would be honored to bring my experience and skills to serve our students, school, and community.

My priorities include optimizing enrollment, student success and creating and maintaining a safe, caring and fiscally responsible learning environment for our students.

This includes management of the “in process” Measure J Bond and support for the proposed Measure K Bond to help us reach our goals for a strong campus infrastructure that will last another 100 years.

It involves careful review and consideration of all policies and procedures to ensure they support our student learning objectives as outlined in the California State Education code.

As a member of the board, I will bring my extensive experience in governance, public education and collaborative decision processes to the Board of Trustees for Sunol Glen.
